In this short mini-series, we’ll take a look at the developers behind Overwatch.  In this initial installment, we’re featuring Jeff Kaplan, Game Director and Vice President.

 Jeff Kaplan is the leader and creative vision-holder for Overwatch as game director and vice president at Blizzard Entertainment.  He is responsible in the oversight of the development team and is tasked with:

• Designing a highly-stylized team-based multiplayer shooter
• Creating a diverse cast of extraordinary characters
• Making Overwatch awesome!

Prior to his position for Overwatch, Jeff served as the game director for World of Warcraft.  He oversaw the development team and was responsible for the game’s vision and overall direction.  Jeff got started with World of Warcraft in 2002 as a quest designer on the game’s development team.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis on creative writing from the University of Southern California in 1995.  He then continued his education to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from New York University.
